Second Semester School Transfer Request

Second Semester Transfer Requests can be submitted November 1st through November 10th of the current school year for students enrolled in grades K - 11th. Applications received will be reviewed during Winter Break. An email will be sent through FOCUS to the parent with approval or denial.

Second Semester School Transfer request opens November 1st and closes November 10th. Second Semester School Transfer Requests are not available outside of the request dates.

Lee Virtual School second semester requests for students in K - 11th grade are accepted November 1st through January 24th.

Second semester transfer opportunities are available for the School District of Lee County students including Lee Virtual School students. Transfer requests must be submitted through the Focus Parent Portal.

  • Second semester school transfer request does not guarantee a transfer, seats must be available at the requested school. 
  • If transferred, students will start at the new school the first day of the second semester, January 13, 2025.

**Students not enrolled in a District school should submit a re-enroll application in Focus during the month of December for a District school in January. (Charter, Home School or Private School Students)

Second Semester School Transfer Request in the Focus Parent Portal

The request will be listed under Forms in the Focus Parent Portal. 

Form

Select the Student you would like to transfer. The Grade, Current SDM and Current School will auto populate. Please review the information.

Select the Requested School. Schools in your zone will only populate in the dropdown. 

Form

If the form is submitted twice the existing request will be deleted and the newest request form will be valid.

High School Career Academy Waiver

Waiver will only be available in the Spring for the upcoming school year.

The High School Career Academy Waiver is only available from the end of Student Open Enrollment (Spring) until May 1 of the previous school year for the upcoming school year. High School Career Academy Waivers are not available outside of the listed date.

If the high school assignment you received does not offer the Career Academy you are interested in, please complete the Career Academy Waiver and email to the Student Enrollment Office ([email protected]). Waiver review and determination will be done by Student Enrollment and Career & Tech Ed administrators.

  • Approval of waiver DOES NOT guarantee acceptance into a specific Career Academy at the requested school.
  • Acceptance into a specific career academy depends on available seats and/or position on waitlist.

Appeal Waiver

The end date for submitting a hardship waiver for the upcoming school year is July 31st.

An Appeal waiver may be granted when extenuating circumstances exist for a family and those circumstances necessitate the placement of the student at a different school then the current school of enrollment. Note: An older sibling requesting a transfer to younger sibling’s school of enrollment is not considered reason for appeal.
