Board Member Message

As we mark eight months since Hurricane Ian hit our community, some areas still look like they did the day after the storm. Many members of our community remain in recovery mode, and that includes our staff and families.

As the 2022-2023 school year in Lee County comes to an end, great things have been accomplished by our newest kindergarten students to our graduating seniors.

The school year is coming to an end. Proms, plays, concerts, and award ceremonies are all in full swing, reminding us that summer break is just around the corner.

Governing bodies are often measured by their governance during the first 100 days out of the gate. It sets the tone and direction of what can and will be accomplished.

Student School Assignment is changing for the 2023-24 school year--a very important message especially for parents/guardians of elementary school students.

Happy New Year to all of our students, families, educators, and community. As we embark on a new year, we continue to celebrate successes, but also face some challenges ahead.

Our Christmases here in Lee County have certainly never been white, but the aftermath of the hurricane has Fort Myers feeling more blue than usual this Holiday season.

As we enter our third week post Hurricane Ian, the School Board continues to acknowledge the significant loss and suffering experienced by many in the School District of Lee County community.
