The School District of Lee County is excited to announce that Parent University will hold five in-person learning sessions for the 2023-2024 school year. Parents/guardians and community members are invited to attend each session to learn more about the School District and become partners, advocates, and lifelong teachers in their child's education.
“We’ve held Parent University the last three school years via our online platforms and have had great response and feedback,” said Irma Lancaster, Director of Strategic Communications. “But our intention has always been for the program to held on location where families can interact with school staff and community partners. We are excited about the opportunity to increase the bond between our families and the District.”
Parent University launched in the fall of 2020 with a series of eight learning opportunities on the District’s YouTube and Facebook channels. The virtual programs provide information and family activities with District staff and community guests. Attendees will earn a certificate of completion for each session they attend. New this year, the school with the highest parent participation will be rewarded with an on-site reception.
