Hour of Code 2019

December 9th - 13th, 2019 


‘Hour of Code™’ – Join the Coding Movement! The Career & Technical Education Dept. invites all teachers, students and staff to set aside 1 hour to participate in National Computer Science Week and 'Hour of Code™'.  This nationwide initiative introduces K-12 students to computer science and coding.   You and your students can participate in interactive coding lessons, hands-on activities, and enter our District-wide coding competition. 

 

Teachers, please follow the steps below to get started:

  1. Preview our three levels of coding activities in the following Google Classrooms.  Have students join the Google Classrooms (based on thieir skill/experience).:

  2. Students submit completed

    projects or certificates for a chance to win a prize: Student Submissions
  3. Register for The School District of Lee County's 'Hour of Code™' using our Google Form

  4. Designate 1 hour during the week of December 9th to introduce students to computer science and participate in 'Hour of Code™'. Students join the Google classroom (using class codes above) and complete the coding activities provided. Take pictures and tweet your classroom using #LeeHourOfCode.
