Action Meeting - November 19, 2024

Board Organization

  • District 1 Representative Sam Fisher was elected Board Chairman.
  • District 6 Representative Jada Langford Fleming was elected Board Vice Chairman.
  • The Board approved the action meeting dates for January 2025 through December 2025.

*Superintendent Dr. Denise Carlin and Board Members Melisa Giovannelli, Bill Ribble and Vanessa Chaviano were sworn in during a ceremony prior to the start of the action meeting.


Consent Action Items

The School Board approved:

  • Renaming Bayshore Elementary School as Bayshore School
  • Renaming Fort Myers Middle Academy as Fort Myers Middle School
  • Funding for exterior painting projects at North Fort Myers High School, Lehigh Senior High School, Gateway Elementary, Mirror Lakes Elementary, Patriot Elementary, Rayma C. Page Elementary, Royal Palm Exceptional Center, Spring Creek Elementary, Transportation South, and Transportation West. Interior painting projects for Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle and Three Oaks Elementary were also funded.
  • Adopted the Plan for Student Enrollment 2025-2026 in compliance with changes in related rules, regulations, and statutes; to adopt best practices and promote transparency and accountability.
