Congratulations to Maria Rose, a first grade teacher at Edison Park Elementary School for being named our 2024 Teacher of the Year!

The Miami Heat welcomed South Fort Myers High students to the Kaseya Center to introduce students to careers in the sports industry. This trip is part of a program only South Fort Myers High has in Lee County.

Learn about the "Into Space" course! Island Coast High School is the only school offering the course in the state of Florida, and it is taught by former NASA Rocket Scientist, Dr. WIlliam Downes.

Students at Varsity Lakes Middle and across the District are joining their school's new SAVE Promise Club -- a student-led organization that encourages young people to take charge of keeping their friends, schools, and communities safe. These National Junior Honor Society students from Bonita Springs Middle School just created and sent over 1,000 cards to the military for a very Happy Holiday.

In a school year when students and staff were disproportionately impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Ian, the School District of Lee County is proud to announce that we have made excellent progress related to student outcomes.

Students from across the District took a field trip to FGCU to learn about jobs in the field of agriculture which are not all in a field. Vendors gave them engaging examples to show them what they do in their fields which can be tied to the industry.

Kudos to the 5th grade Blueberry Ambassadors from Tanglewood Elementary School, who recently donated over 100 stuffed turkey bags to the children at Golisano Children's Hospital.

Two years ago, the Island Coast High School JRTOC Raiders program only had nine members and could not field a team of 12 to compete. All they could do was practice. That practice paid off. Today the team has 40 members and just won the 2023 State Championship.

After 433 days, students and staff at The Fort Myers Beach Elementary school can celebrate the official reopening of their campus!

These students at Trafalgar Middle School just celebrated the annual Florida Crunch. They were taste testing produce that was grown in their own school garden.

The School District of Lee County is excited to announce that the Practical Nursing program at Cape Coral Technical College has been ranked first in Florida for 2024 by PracticalNursing.org. The program was also ranked #1 in 2022.
