High School Transportation Optimization

The School Board of Lee County recently approved the 2026-2027 Plan for Student Enrollment at its December 1, 2025, Board meeting. The enrollment plan includes changes to high school transportation. This strategic plan is designed to impact the fewest number of students while having the largest impact on transportation efficiency and on-time performance. It does not limit a student’s access to choose a school for the programs it offers. The plan only limits the transportation that may be provided.

Student Enrollment Plan relies on three choice zones (East, South, West) broken into subzones (1, 2, 3). If you are unsure of which subzone you live in, please use the School Enrollment Zones link to determine your subzone.

Note: Students living outside of the listed Subzones will not have busing provided but can attend the school with the understanding they must provide their own transportation.

Middle School Zones AA/CC Adjustments

All schools within Middle School Zone AA are currently operating below 80% of FISH capacity and Middle School Zone CC are operating above 100% of FISH capacity. The opening of Hector A. Cafferata K–8 will provide additional capacity for families residing in the AA Middle School Zone.

Revising middle school boundaries for Zones AA and CC will better balance enrollment and support the opening of Hector A. Cafferata Jr. K–8. Current students may remain at their existing school without District transportation. Families will need to waive transportation eligibility.

Transportation will be provided to students that select schools within their new zone.
