The Communications Department is located at 2855 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, in the Lee County Public Education Center. The department recognizes the need for parents, the community, staff, and the media to be informed about educational news and the issues and stories relating to our school district and our schools.
The department is responsible for the majority of the District’s internal and external communication efforts. The Communications Department issues press releases, creates standard templates, handles social media accounts, as well as produces and edits all District video content. Staff also serve as a liaison between schools and the District and local, state, and national media. In addition, the Department oversees the District's main website (www.leeschools.net).
The Communications Department is also responsible for fulfilling Public Records Requests from the media and the public, according to Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes. Public record requests may be made to the office in person, by phone, letter, or Email.
