District Cleaning Guidelines

Custodial Cleaning Guidelines

Follow cleaning procedures as taught in the bi-weekly training class as conducted by Building Services, with the exception of using #106 GS disinfectant in place of #105 Industrial Cleaner on commonly touched areas. Daily or more often as circumstances require:

  • Doorknobs
  • Door Plates
  • Light Switches
  • Handrails
  • Faucets/Fixtures
  • Telephones
  • Drinking Fountains
  • Cafeteria Tables

Any other commonly touched area Weekly or more often as circumstances require:

  • Desks
  • Tables
  • Counter Tops (daily)

All clinics, ready rooms and restrooms must be disinfected at the end of every day with 106 GS High Dilution Disinfectant 256.

If a student is removed from the classroom with suspected symptoms and the Clinic Administrator suspects the flu virus, at that time the custodian/building supervisor should be called to do the following:

Using 106 GS disinfectant, disinfect all surfaces that may have been contaminated (door knobs, student’s desk, restroom fixtures & any other possible surfaces student may have come in contact with). To be totally effective #106 GS disinfectant should not remain in the ready to use state (spray bottle) for more than 2 days. Building Supervisor/Custodial Staff are reminded to take precautions and to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Wear green chemical resistant gloves.

Disinfectant Wipes

We do not recommend the use of disinfectant wipes as there is a possibility of cross transfer if not properly used.
