Teacher Career Bridge

Purpose

The Teacher Career Bridge is a relevant, rigorous entry-level program for experienced teachers who want to take part in instructional leadership opportunities. The program offers a variety of activities enabling each participant many opportunities to develop knowledge, aspirations, skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to effectively perform as an instructional leader.

 

Teacher Career Bridge Roles include:

Peer Collaborative Teacher (PCT)

Highly effective Peer Collaborative Teachers provide coaching, instructional modeling, and whole and small group professional development to instructional staff in high needs schools. Peer collaborative teachers aim to increase student achievement and teacher effectiveness through job embedded professional development. They are also eligible to receive a $10,125 supplement that is paid upon receipt of an effective or highly effective final performance evaluation.

Instruction (50% of the time): Co-teach with a new teacher in a designated school.

Leadership (50% of the time): Support mentors, utilize coaching cycles to support teachers, develop and deliver Professional Development, and coach future leaders.

Learning and Leadership Teacher (LLT)

Learning and Leadership Teachers provide support to PCTs on an going basis while at the same time teaching and modeling instructional best-practices with students and staff in schools. Learning and leadership teachers work closely with school leadership and the Professional Development Department to develop and deliver targeted professional development to meet the needs of individual schools. They are also eligible to receive a $10,125 supplement that is paid upon receipt of an effective or highly effective final performance evaluation.

Instruction (20% of the time): Co-teach with a new teacher in a designated school.

Leadership (80% of the time): Support PCTs during monthly meetings, provide one-on-one coaching and develop and deliver Professional Development.

Transformation Teacher

Transformation Teachers serve as classroom teachers in critical content areas in hard to staff schools. Transformation teachers' classrooms serve as model classrooms for other teachers. Transformation teachers receive an additional $15,000 as a component of their salary.

Professional Development Course Facilitator

Professional Development Course Facilitators work with the Professional Development Department to facilitate online and in-person professional development for teachers on an as needed basis. Facilitators provide timely feedback and build relationships with participants who are enrolled in their courses.

Instruction (100% of the time): Facilitate online and in-person professional development for teachers.
