Master’s Level School Counseling Interns

The School District of Lee County welcomes master's level school counseling program interns. Intern candidates from CACREP* accredited master’s level school counseling programs may apply and will be considered for required field experiences.

*CACREP stands for the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs and is a program-specific accreditation in addition to the overall college/university accreditation.

For intern placement, School Counseling interns are required to contact:

Lori Brooks, Director, School Counseling and Mental Health Services
Phone: 239-337-8348 Email: [email protected]
or
Melissa Ficarro, Secretary, School Counseling and Mental Health Services
Phone: 239-337-8132 Email:  [email protected]

All site assignments must be facilitated through the District School Counseling Services Department. Current School District of Lee County employees are required to follow the process above and are not guaranteed an internship at their current school of employment.  The School Counseling Services Department maintains a list of approved internship sites that have met the criteria to supervise master’s level school counseling interns. A staff member’s current school of employment may or may not be on the approved site list.
