
The School District is proud to announce that 34 schools have been recognized as PBIS Model Schools by the Florida PBIS Project. PBIS refers to Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, which is a 3-tiered prevention framework used to enhance the school environment and provide support for students and teachers.
Schools were awarded one of three levels – Bronze, Silver, or Gold. The 2024-25 Model Schools and their award levels are:

"This recognition reflects our district's commitment to create and enhance school environments in which students feel welcomed and are encouraged to develop the skills needed to be a future leader in our community," says Francine Lutman, District PBIS Coach. Schools that have received training in PBIS demonstrate improved school-wide outcomes, as well as consistent student outcomes, and that have shown fidelity of implementation are recognized by the FLPBIS Project’s Model Schools program. To earn this level of achievement, schools must meet specific criteria:
- Exemplify high levels of PBIS implementation fidelity
- Demonstrate generally low rates of exclusionary discipline when compared to similar school types across the state
- Demonstrate student outcomes
