Largest Display of Student Art Opens to the Public

The School District of Lee County will open its doors on October 23, 2018 for the largest public display of student artwork in the state of Florida. Designs and Dreams of Young Artists XXVI showcases the work of more than one hundred students in elementary, middle and high school.

“Designs and Dreams is an unbelievable display of student talent at all grade levels in the Lee County Schools,” says Executive Director of Fine and Performing Arts Dr. Doug Santini. “Art is a way for our students to connect other academic disciplines to the world. “

The exhibit is an open house for students, parents, employees, families and the public to enjoy artwork created by students.

School Board Members and the Superintendent, Dr. Greg Adkins, will be available to meet with the student artists and offer their congratulations from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, before the start of their regular School Board meeting. The hallways of the Lee County Public Education Center at 2855 Colonial Blvd. in Fort Myers will stay open until 7:00pm to continue showcasing the student’s artwork.

The Designs and Dreams of Young Artists was created by former Superintendent Dr. James A. Adams in 1992. Every year it continues to be the largest single display of student artwork in Florida.
