School Board Member Recognized for Earning Honorable Distinction

The Florida School Boards Association (FSBA) is proud to recognize William (Bill) F. Ribble, Jr., Lee County School Board Member, as a member of the newest class of Emerging Leaders.

To earn the Emerging Leader distinction, school board members elected in 2024 must complete and document a minimum of 48 hours of professional development within one year of election. These hours are earned through participation in FSBA’s New School Board Member Training, Parts I and II, along with attendance at least two of FSBA’s three forums - School Finance, Policy Governance, and Bargaining 101.

“I am so excited to recognize Bill as an Emerging Leader,” said Tina Pinkoson, FSBA Director of Leadership Services. “Since his election in 2024, his commitment to the students of Lee County has been evident through his dedication to professional growth. Bill’s willingness to learn and his engagement in training opportunities have laid a strong foundation for his work on the board.”

The Emerging Leader designation is a recent addition to FSBA’s Certified Board Member (CBM) program. It represents the first step in a continuum of professional development opportunities designed to help board members deepen their understanding of effective governance and policymaking.

The Florida School Boards Association serves as the professional association for school boards across the state. FSBA’s mission is to increase student achievement through the development of effective school board leadership and strong advocacy for public education.
