Two outstanding teachers from the School District of Lee County have been recognized with the inaugural Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Elevate Educator Award, an honor created to celebrate exceptional mentorship and partnership in teacher preparation.

A redesigned entrance honoring the historical nature of Bonita Springs Elementary School will greet students, staff, and visitors to the campus as part of a renovation and remodeling project.

The School District of Lee County is excited to announce that South Fort Myers High School’s Elite 8 Speaker Series aired on Gulf Coast NBC on Sunday, May 11th at 11:00 a.m. The inaugural event was held on January 28th at South Fort Myers High School.

College just got easier for four aspiring teachers. The graduating seniors are recipients of this year’s Superintendent’s Florida Prepaid Scholarship. Each of them will receive a two-year Florida Prepaid scholarship worth $8,000.

Congratulations to Nishini Fernando, Deetya Gogineni, and Justin Wang. These students were selected as the School District’s top high school juniors in STEM and awarded one-year scholarships.
