Two Schools Named Capturing Kids’ Hearts® National Showcase School

Allen Park Elementary has been named a 2025–2026 Capturing Kids’ Hearts® National Showcase School, recognizing the campus for its intentional focus on relationships, student engagement, and a positive learning environment.

This designation is awarded to schools that are creating meaningful connections on campus, where students feel a strong sense of belonging and staff are committed to supporting both the academic and emotional needs of every child. At Allen Park, that commitment is reflected in daily interactions, shared expectations, and a culture built on trust and respect.

The recognition highlights the work happening inside classrooms and throughout the school, where educators prioritize connection as a driver of student success and well-being.

“Earning the CKH National Showcase School distinction reflects the incredible dedication of our faculty and staff who put relationships first every single day,” said Allen Park Elementary Principal Melissa Booth. “Being the first school in Lee County to achieve this honor proves that when you build a foundation of love, trust, and connection, our students thrive both emotionally and academically. We are immensely proud of our Allen Park community for living these values and setting a standard of excellence for our district.”

Hector A. Cafferata Jr. Elementary has been named a 2025–2026 Capturing Kids’ Hearts® National Rising Star School. The Rising Star award is a prestigious recognition given to schools in their first year of implementing the CKH program. It celebrates campuses that show rapid, remarkable growth in student engagement, emotional safety, and a positive school culture.

“This is a testament to the incredible culture our staff has built and the relationships they form with students every day,” said Hector A. Cafferata Jr. Elementary School Principal Dr. Jason Kurtz. “When students know they are valued, respected, and cared for, amazing things happen. Being named a Capturing Kids’ Hearts Rising Star School reinforces that strong relationships are the foundation of student success at Cafferata.”

Capturing Kids’ Hearts recognizes schools nationwide that are making a lasting impact by strengthening connections and cultivating environments where students are supported, challenged, and inspired.

Allen Park and Hector A. Cafferata Jr. Elementary schools will continue to build on this momentum, focusing on practices that support a strong campus culture and meaningful student experiences.
