
The School District of Lee County proudly celebrated outstanding employees and years of dedicated service during the 2026 Legacy Awards Reception held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Lee County Public Education Center.
The inaugural event recognized employees whose commitment, leadership, and service have made a lasting impact on students, schools, colleagues, and the greater Lee County community. Honorees included recipients of districtwide excellence awards and employees celebrating milestone years of service.
“This evening is about honoring the people who help shape the heart and future of our district,” said Dr. Denise Carlin, Superintendent. “Every honoree represents a legacy of excellence, dedication, and care that continues to influence generations of students and staff.”
The evening featured recognition of several distinguished award recipients, including:
- APPLES New Teacher of the Year
- APPLES Mentor of the Year
- School-Related Employee of the Year
- Assistant Principal of the Year
- Principal of the Year
- Teacher of the Year Regional Finalists
- District Teacher of the Year
In addition to celebrating district excellence award recipients, the event honored employees demonstrating long-standing commitment by reaching remarkable service milestones of 35, 40, 45, and 50+ years with The School District of Lee County.
The Legacy Awards Reception brought together employees, families, district leaders, School Board members, and community partners to celebrate the dedication and impact of those who have faithfully served the students and families of Lee County.
