Local students showcased their brilliance at the RTX Invention Convention U.S. Nationals, held from June 3–5 at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Competing against hundreds of thousands of students from across the country, two Lee County students secured top honors in their respective grade divisions.

This summer, for the first time, the district transformed professional development into a full three-day summit experience, fully funded through a generous grant that made immersive, focused learning possible for more than 650 educators from across the district.

The School District of Lee County and the University of Florida (UF) today announced an articulation agreement that will provide qualified high school juniors and seniors in the district’s 15 high schools with the only opportunity in Southwest Florida to register for dual-enrollment courses through UF. 68 students have already signed up to start classes in August.

Allen Park Elementary has been named a 2025–2026 Capturing Kids’ Hearts® National Showcase School. Hector A. Cafferata Jr. Elementary has been named a 2025–2026 Capturing Kids’ Hearts® National Rising Star School.

The School District of Lee County is proud to announce that six National Merit Scholarship Program finalists have been selected as scholarship recipients. Four students are earning National Merit Scholarships financed by U.S. colleges and universities.
