Cape Coral Technical College’s LPN Program Ranked First in Florida

The School District of Lee County is excited to announce that the Practical Nursing program at Cape Coral Technical College has been ranked first in Florida by www.nursingprocess.org. The program was ranked #2 in Florida in 2021.

“Our teachers have very high standards and they have created a long-standing culture of professionalism, integrity, and excellence,” says Cape Coral Technical College Director Charlie Peace. Health Science Programs Department Chair Candy Shearer adds, “Our program success rate is attributed to hard work, dedication, and positive role modeling. We want our students to make their patients their number one priority, through advocacy and compassion. All our instructors work well together while inspiring our students to be the best that they can be. We are proud of our graduates and the differences they make out in the community.”

The Practical Nursing program at Cape Coral Tech takes just 13 months and costs about $7,100. Classes are small so they provide hands-on training and personal instruction. Students work directly with patients, physicians, and nurses in hospitals and other healthcare facilities and experience a variety of interactive simulation case scenarios. Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Licensing Exam and may be eligible for advanced credit in the Nursing Associate Degree program at Florida Southwestern College or any Florida community college.

"This program has truly changed my life in the best possible way,” says Practical Nursing student Nick Testoni. “Not only by providing an amazing pathway to start my career in healthcare, but by giving me all the resources I could ever need to succeed and thrive. It’s difficult to explain how amazing I think Cape Coral Tech is and how much it has impacted my life. Easily one of the best choices I've made in my life! After starting my career as an LPN I hope to continue my education and one day become a Nurse Anesthetist.”
