South Fort Myers High School to Host Elite 8 Speaker Series

The School District of Lee County is proud to announce that South Fort Myers High School is launching the Elite 8 Speaker Series. The Elite 8 Speaker Series will feature eight of the region's most accomplished entrepreneurs and business leaders, delivering powerful TED-style talks that ignite creativity, foster innovation, and spark a passion for entrepreneurship in students.
The inaugural Elite 8 Talk will take place toward the end of January at South Fort Myers High School. 500 students and educators from the School District of Lee County and Florida Gulf Coast University will be in the audience. The eight featured guests are:
- Dr. Denise Carlin, Superintendent, School District of Lee County
- Bill Daubmann, President and Owner, My Shower Door
- Gary Griffin, CEO, B & I Contractors, Inc.
- Teri Hansen, Founder and President, Priority Marketing/Author
- Tracy McMillion, Chief, Fort Myers Fire Department
- Joe North, Attorney, The North Law Firm
- Ron Rice, President, Patient Preferred Financial Services
- Alfie Tounjian, Founder and President, Advantage Retirement Group/Author
Spearheaded by South Fort Myers High School Principal Ed Mathews, Director of South Fort Myers High School’s Entrepreneurship Program Kevin Schell, and South Fort Myers High School Career Advisory Board Chairman Bill Daubmann, The Elite 8 Speaker Series will also pair eight accomplished business leaders with eight exceptional students, offering personalized guidance, practical knowledge, and hands-on exposure to the entrepreneurial mindset. Students attending the event will be given information on how to apply, ensuring everyone has a fair opportunity to participate in this life-changing experience.
Each talk in the series will be professionally recorded and transformed into a 30-minute TV show airing on NBC-2. The broadcast will help to extend the event’s reach and inspire students from around Southwest Florida.
