Chief Human Resource Officer Earns National Recognition

The School District of Lee County is proud to announce that Chief Human Resource Officer Angela Montemarano was awarded the 2024 HRO Today Association HR Excellence Award in Education for North America. The HRO Today Association Awards annually recognize the essential work that HR professionals do every day and provides people, teams, partners, and companies an opportunity to share best practices and successes so colleagues, and the industry, can benefit from their experience.

HRO AwardMontemarano was recognized by HRO Today for her outstanding work in three areas:

  • Professional development for staff
  • Crisis management
  • Mental health resources and support systems

“This award isn’t just mine,” Montemarano said. “It belongs to the incredible team at the School District of Lee County. It’s a privilege to work with such talented, passionate individuals who make a real difference every day. Thank you for shining a light on our work! The School Board of Lee County recognized Montemarano for winning her award at the January 7th Board meeting. The School Board honored her leadership and the achievement as a milestone in the School District’s ongoing journey to improve employee well-being and drive HR innovation.
