Members of the School Board of Lee County, alongside Superintendent Dr. Denise Carlin, recently traveled to Tallahassee to advocate for the needs and priorities of Lee County students, teachers, and families to ensure their voices were represented at the state level.
During their time at the Capitol, they met with over 30 legislators that serve on key education committees to discuss the needs of Lee County schools. These meetings provided an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions on education policies, funding, and initiatives that impact the district.
“Our role as education leaders extends beyond the classroom—we must advocate for the resources and policies that will empower our students and support our educators,” said Dr. Carlin. “Having a presence in Tallahassee allows us to build relationships with lawmakers and ensure that the needs of our community remain a priority.”
The School District of Lee County remains committed to strengthening these connections and working alongside state leaders to champion positive change in education.
