Jason Sill and Adam Wright wins EMMY AwardCongratulations to Lee Schools TV Video Production Supervisor Jason Sill and Video Production Specialist Adam Wright for winning a 2018 Suncoast EMMY® Award. Their story, “Dulce’s Dream,” was honored in the Educational/Schools News Feature category at the 42nd Annual Suncoast Regional Emmy® Awards Saturday night in Orlando.

“It’s an incredible honor to receive this award on behalf of The School District of Lee County,” Adam Wright says. “We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to share this heartwarming story of human compassion with our community, and look forward to telling more great stories involving our amazing students, teachers and staff members in the future.”

“Dulce’s Dream” tells the story of 3rd grade student Dulce Jaimes receiving a prosthetic arm that science teacher Eric Demeri made for her over spring break on a 3-D printer. The story is a viral hit on Facebook with more than 3.1 million views, 126,000 likes and 75,000 shares.

The win was the first professional EMMY® award and nomination for Lee Schools TV. Students from the Lee Schools TV Intern Program have previously won several Suncoast EMMY® Awards and two have won a National Student Production Award “Student EMMY®” for their work.
