Ray V. Pottorf Elementary Receives $5,000 Donation from New Burlington Store

The School District of Lee County is excited to announce Ray V. Pottorf Elementary School was awarded a $5,000 donation today from national discount retailer Burlington Stores. Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org are adopting the teachers at Ray V. Pottorf to celebrate the opening of their new store at the Cypress Woods Shopping Center on Six Mile Cypress Parkway.

“Thank you so much to our new neighbors!” exclaims Ray V. Pottorf Principal Brandy Macchia. “Our teachers always want to provide their students with the best opportunity to learn so it is absolutely wonderful that Burlington has chosen to recognize them with this generous gift! We look forward to partnering with them.”

The $5,000 donation will be divided among the teachers at Ray V. Pottorf to shop for school supplies through AdoptAClassroom.org. AdoptAClassroom.org connects teachers to 25 vendors they can buy supplies from that can be put to immediate use.

Since Burlington began partnering with AdoptAClassroom.org in 2017, they have supported more than 1 million students nationwide. Dr. Carrie D. Robinson Littleton Elementary, Three Oaks Elementary, and San Carlos Park Elementary have all previously received donations from Burlington as new stores opened near each campus.
