New Teacher Orientation

The School District of Lee County is ready to welcome hundreds of new teachers to the District on Monday, July 27th. Over the first three days of orientation, new teachers will participate in live, virtual sessions focused on curriculum, classroom management, student engagement, parent/guardian communication, instructional technology, and more. The event concludes with teachers participating in onboarding and team-building activities at their new schools.

The teachers starting with the District are a mix of recent college graduates, transfers from other Districts, and professionals who have changed careers to teach. Orientation gives these educators the foundational exposure and preparation needed to ensure each student has an opportunity to reach his or her highest potential in any educational setting.

Through a partnership with Suncoast Credit Union and the Foundation for Lee County Schools, the professional development team transitioned this annual event to a virtual platform, making a new vision of teacher onboarding possible. The Human Resources Division, Suncoast Credit Union, the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, and the Teacher’s Association of Lee County stand ready to continue to support new teachers throughout the school year and throughout their careers in Lee County.
