Hundreds of New Teachers Welcomed to School District

Hundreds of teachers about to begin their careers with the School District of Lee County attended new teacher orientation this past week. Sessions included curriculum, teaching techniques, technology and more.

“The Human Resources team is very excited to welcome new teachers to our district family,” says Dr. Helen Martin, Assistant Director of Professional Development. “We are certain these new teachers will make student success the top priority this school year. In fact, many of the new teachers have participated in summer trainings to ensure their students have every opportunity to reach their highest potential. We applaud these educators for their dedication to the profession and their students, and we stand ready to continue to support them throughout the remainder of the school-year and their careers in Lee County.”

The teachers starting with the District are a mix of recent college graduates, transfers from other Districts and professionals who have changed careers to teach. Each one will get continued support through the year from their Principal and a mentor to ensure their success. They start work on August 5th.
