State Sen. Lizbeth Benacquisto Coding on Campus

State Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto visited three schools today to code with students on campus.
She spent an hour each at Gulf Elementary, Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School and Dunbar High School.

STEM2 Hub Executive Director Kathleen Schoenfeld led the coding demonstrations. STEM2 Hub envisions high-quality, culturally relevant STEM learning experiences for every child and young person.

The students all used www.code.org to create their own Dance Party video. The codes they use program the characters, movement and background of the Dance Party video.

Senator Benacquisto encouraged all the students to considering coding or computer science for their college studies or careers because of the need for highly skilled employees in every line of work.
