Enrollment Information

Head Start/ Early Head Start/CCP are high quality early childhood programs that serve pregnant women and children. The EHS Program serves 0-30 months. Head Start serves children who are 4 years of age by September 1st. Families must meet Federal Poverty Income guidelines. Services are also offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities.

The goal of the Head Start program is to prepare children for kindergarten. Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities in accredited classrooms located at many elementary schools around the county. Head Start provides children with activities that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally and physically.

The application period for the next school year (19-20) begins January 14, 2019. We will be distributing paper pre-applications at the Student Enrollment Offices and Head Start elementary school sites.

You may complete the pre-application and mail or drop off at the following location:

Completing this pre-application does NOT mean you have been accepted into the program.

Qualifying Requirements:

  • Head Start is a classroom-based program.
    • Children must be 4 years old by September 1.
    • Family must meet the federal poverty income guidelines or child must have a disability with an Individualized Education Plan.
  • Early Head Start is an infant toddler program.
    • Home-based and Center-based options are available for Lee County.
    • Children must be between the ages of birth and thirty months (0-30).
    • Pregnant women may also apply.
    • Family must meet the federal poverty income guidelines or child must have a disability with an IFSP.
