School District Seeking Suggestions to Rename Lee Adolescent Mother’s Program
Posted on 06/08/2022

The School District of Lee County's Lee Adolescent Mothers' Program (LAMP) is starting the process to rename the program. The current name does not represent all teen parents as the program includes the participation of teenage fathers.
LAMP is a part of the State's Teenage Parent Program (TAPP) which provides child care, transportation, academic, health and social services for teen parents while they are completing their schooling. The District would like community input to develop a name that equitably reflects all teen parents and makes the program easily identifiable and accessible for students.
Anyone with an idea is asked to submit the form below. The deadline for submission is 5:00pm on Wednesday, June 16th.
Once the survey is complete, an Ad Hoc committee will review the suggestions to determine which ones meet School Board Policy 9.1. A second survey will be taken next month with the top qualifying suggestions. The Ad Hoc committee will review the final survey results and present a recommendation to the School Board for approval.
