Eligibility Pool (Wait List)

Eligibility Pool (Waiting List)
Ensuring that each student achieves his/her highest personal potential

This year we are going to close the eligibility pool on June 3rd, which is sooner than in years past. This one-time change is due to the planned switch this summer in computer systems that among other things, manage enrollment.

Eligibility Pool (Wait List)

Every effort is made to enroll each student to their first choice school whenever possible taking into consideration preferences, class size and school capacity.

  • Elementary school students not receiving one of their top three choices are automatically placed onto the Eligibility Pool (waiting list) for their first choice school.

  • Middle and high school students not receiving their first choice are automatically placed onto the Eligibility Pool (waiting list) for their first choice school.

Notification of a seat

  • When a vacancy occurs / seat opens, Student Enrollment will notify the parent of availability by email or telephone.

  • Do not contact Student Enrollment to check for seat availability or the number the student holds on the eligibility pool (waiting list).

  • If a parent cannot be reached via telephone or email, Student Enrollment will accept the seat on behalf of parent/guardian and a notification of the enrollment will be mailed to the address listed for the student.

  • If the student withdraws to attend a charter, virtual, private or home school, they will automatically be removed from the eligibility pool (waiting list).

  • The eligibility pool (waiting list) runs from the date Open Enrollment applications are processed until 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022.

  • The eligibility pool does not roll over from one school year to another.

Your Contact Information

Please keep your phone number and email contact information up-to-date so you can be contacted. Student Enrollment cannot reach parents/guardian if contact information is missing, inaccurate or voice mail box is full. Parent/Guardian is responsible for notifying the current school or Student Enrollment of any changes to address or telephone numbers. Student residential address changes require proper documentation (photo ID and current utility bill or lease).

Sibling Guarantee

Parents may choose to request their younger child(ren) be enrolled in the same school by providing an application with all siblings on the same application. Siblings are defined as children residing at the same address and having the same guardians.

  • If the parent completed an application after the Student Open Enrollment period, Student Enrollment will attempt to give parents priority; however

    • if capacity does not exist, the parent will need to decide to accept an enrollment to a different school for the incoming student or

    • to move the siblings together to a different elementary school where capacity exists for their kindergarten child.

Parents/Guardians will be offered enrollments to those siblings only when vacancies occur at all grade levels required, thereby honoring the request for a Sibling Guarantee enrollment.
