Lee Virtual School Celebrates 10 Year Milestone with First Online Graduation in Lee County

The Lee Virtual School (LVS) marks a milestone graduating 67 seniors Saturday, May 23rd at 2:00 PM. 67 LVS grads are being conferred virtually in the first online graduation held by the School District of Lee County. The ceremony can be viewed at https://leeschools.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_HZADbFDCQFGId1YFihh4cw

LVS is a public, full time online school for over 350 students in grades Kindergarten through 12. For a decade, the school celebrated commencement with a traditional in person ceremony. In 2010, LVS had one graduate. The class of 2020 has 67.

Students choose to attend school online in order to have flexible scheduling, accelerate and advance through classes, and be able to participate in activities that would otherwise not be possible with a traditional school schedule. Athletes, aspiring musicians and student missionaries make up the diverse faces of this graduating class.

LVS is one of the top online programs in Florida and the United States. School grades have ranked LVS as a consistent “A” school. LVS is in the top 10% of US News and World Report’s ranking of all public schools as well.
