How to add a subject area to your Florida Educators Certificate, change the name on your certificate, delete a subject on your certificate, or receive a duplicate certificate if you are currently an educator for the School District of Lee County

Step 1 - Complete Application

If you have previously been approved for a Military Certification Fee Waiver please refer to your email notification of approval from the Florida Department of Education.

  • Sign-in or establish an online user account with the Bureau of Educator Certification Online Licensing Service site and complete an application.

Step 2 - Print a Copy

  • Print a copy of your completed renewal Application Summary.
  • Add your employee ID and school/department location on the top of the first page of the Application Summary.

Step 3 - Submit Required Documents

  • Send the printed application, and a check or money order (made payable to The School District of Lee County) to Human Resources.

  • Certification Fee Amounts:

    • Addition of a Subject - $75.00 per subject
    • Name Change - $20.00
    • Duplicate Certificate - $20.00
    • Deletion of a Subject- $20.00
  • If you were required to provide payment online to the Bureau of Educator Certification when completing your application, no additional fee is required. Please send the printed Application Summary to Human Resources to update our records.

Step 4 - Follow-Up

  • When your teaching certificate is issued, provide a copy to your Principal/Supervisor. Please note that the Florida Department of Education routinely requires several weeks to issue a certificate.

Your application must only reflect one district affiliation. If you were previously employed with a Florida school district please update your affiliation to reflect the district affiliation of District – 100 when completing your application.
