Welcome to the Lee County School District Student Assignment Open Enrollment site. While we accept school registration applications year round for new students and students currently enrolled, we hold one application period each year for the parents and guardians of students entering kindergarten, 6th and 9th grades. This year the application period runs from January 23rd – March 24th, 2017.
On the right side of this screen you’ll find registration information for each school level. These links provide information like how to find the schools in your zone, special programs that are offered, whether uniforms are required and important health requirements.
If you have questions you can click here to go to our FAQ page or give us a call at the Student Assignment Office in your zone. Phone numbers and addresses are below.
We look forward to working with you and your child(ren) as they make the transition into Kindergarten, Middle or High School. Our mission is to help each of them reach their highest personal potential.
Parents and guardians should pay careful attention to the batch dates each year because of the lottery process used by the Student Assignment Office when assigning children to schools. The lottery process is used when the number of applicants for a school exceeds the number of available seats. Students’ applications are assigned random numbers to determine the order in which their applications will be considered in the assignment process. In the event that more students apply to a choice school than there are seats available, assignments are made to fill the capacity of the school according to the following preferences:
- Multi-zone magnets;
- Zone Magnets;
- ESE and special programs;
- Proximity 1 (P1);
- Proximity 2 (P2) and;
- Random lottery number
All eligible preferences are most beneficial to the student when used as your first choice during the early application period. Ranking them as lower choices and/or in later application periods greatly diminishes their value in the assignment process.
