Island Coast High School senior, Nancy Cepero, has been chosen to play tenor saxophone in Macy’s Great American Marching Band in the Macy’s Day Parade in New York this November.

Cepero is a graduate of the Music for Minors Foundation, an organization that raises money to provide quality musical instruments to deserving students in Lee and Collier counties.  The Music for Minors Foundation will surprise Nancy this Friday, October 6, at 10:00 a.m. by presenting her with a donation of $1,000 to help off-set the cost of her trip to New York.

Nancy Cepero attended the Smith-Walbridge Drum Major Summer Camp this past summer where she was selected to audition for the Macy’s Great American Marching band.  While at the camp she was also presented with the Golden Whistle Award, given to students who demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities.
