WHEREAS, National Military Appreciation Month was
established to honor and pay tribute to all who have
served in dedication to the United States, and their
families; and
WHEREAS, all Government agencies have the
responsibility to raise awareness of and respect for
our national heritage, and to encourage citizens to
dedicate themselves to the values and principles for
which those military heroes of the United States
served and are serving; and
WHEREAS, the relevance of the history and
activities of the military must be made more
apparent to present and future generations of the
people of the United States through local, state,
and national patriotic observances and ongoing
activities.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, in collaboration
with the Government of the United States of America,
that The School Board of Lee County, Florida, hereby
proclaims the month of May 2008 as
And urges all citizens of Lee County, Florida, to
honor the men and women of the United States
