As you have probably heard, like the State of Florida, Lee County Public Schools is facing some very tough budgetary times. Several factors have contributed toward the statewide budget shortfall, including the sluggish housing market and the overall downturn in the economy.

Possible Budget Reductions FY10

Clarification: Please note that an across-the-board percentage reduction in salaries is one of the 15 strategies identified to balance the District’s FY10 budget. If any salary reductions are implemented as a result of the negotiations process, my recommendation would be that ALL employees receive the same percentage of reduction – that would include all administrators, the Superintendent and Board Members.
