The School District of Lee County has been educating our children since 1887.  Over the years, our basic requirements have come from the community, the state and from the federal government.  The requirements have changed over the years and our community has grown rich in diverse perspectives.  We have always been about educating children, and now more than ever we are about educating all children.

In early spring of 2003, I was very fortunate to be appointed as the Superintendent of Schools of one of the best public school systems in Florida.

Educating children is what I am about.  Watching children develop into productive young adults is one of the major benefits of working in education.  The beliefs I hold help to guide me in the decisions I make as Superintendent.

My goals as Superintendent are:

  • Develop an Academic Plan that includes a K-12 Continuum.

  • Standardize services and products within our organization.

  • Establish more fiscally responsible practices for the benefit of our community.

I am fortunate to have a School Board and staff that is committed to doing what is best for all children.  Together, we will become the “Premiere” school district in the state of Florida.
