Academy Overview

Join us for a two week educational experience from Monday, July 9th to Tuesday, July 24th (excluding Friday July 13th and 20th due to 4 day summer work week schedule) to gain additional knowledge and tools as you begin your teaching career with the District! The academy will be focused on (1) Managing the Learning Environment (2) Planning and Preparation for Teaching and Learning (3) Instructional Resources and Technology. All attendees will be paid for attending the academy.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to be eligible to apply for the academy, you must meet the following requirements:
  1. Be a first year* teacher that is currently teaching or has accepted a teaching position at one of our locations for the upcoming 2018 fall semester
  2. Hold an eligible or be eligible for a Florida temporary certificate
  3. Have a valid Florida Statement of Eligibility 

*First Year - Limited previous teaching experience.  If you have previous teaching experience, you are not eligible to attend the academy.

What are the Academy hours?

Who is eligible to apply to the Academy?
All first year teachers who are eligible for a Florida temporary certificate and have a valid Statement of Eligibility.  New teachers who are eligible for a Florida professional certificate are not eligible to apply. Return to Top

Do I have to sign a commitment form in order to attend the Academy?
