The School District of Lee County is proud to announce its first naming rights agreement with longtime resident and well-known local attorney, Joe North.
For the next 5 years, Dunbar High School’s stadium, home of the Tigers, will be known as The North Law Firm Stadium.
“The excellence displayed by the students at Dunbar High School both in the classroom and in athletics made the decision to support the school an easy one,” explained Mr. North. I grew up in the Dunbar community and spent K-12 in the Lee County School District, so this is very personal to me. Dunbar High is in the heart of the community and is also in my heart.”
Principal Carl Burnside grew up with Mr. North and says he couldn’t be more proud to have his name on the stadium, “Mr. North is a good friend of mine and grew up down the road from Dunbar High School. He had the opportunity to start a law practice anywhere in the country, but he came back to Fort Myers to support our community.”
“Mr. North’s story is one of true community and I am honored that he has chosen to support our district in this way,” said Superintendent Dr. Greg Adkins. “We are in the midst of an education revolution, and part of that is looking for new ways to finance education in order to give our students the world class education they deserve.”
The District’s Naming Rights initiative allows companies to put their name on a high school stadium, gymnasium or theater. The dollars generated will go toward closing a nearly $478 million gap in capital dollars which pays for new construction, maintenance, technology, equipment and safety and security initiatives.
Along with Naming Rights, the District also has digital advertising opportunities as well as athletic sponsorships for all 14 of its high schools. To learn more go to www.leeschools.net/advertising.
